We are SO excited for your engagement session! A lot of people are pretty nervous about having their photos taken. For most people it's the first time since high school they've been professionally photographed! We promise your session will be personal, fun, relaxed and will create photos you'll love. Below are a few tips to get ready for your session.

Our best advice is to be true to yourself and dial it up a notch. Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Layers and accessories always look great in photos. We LOVE color. Go bold. Try to think about your location choice and choose colors that fit well or stand out from the background. The two of you should coordinate without being matchy-matchy. In other words, don't feel like you need to wear the same color, but choose colors that go well together. Feel free to bring a couple different outfits. This way you can show off your more casual side and also have fun with something more dressy! Also avoid logos or distracting graphics as well as extra baggy or too-tight clothing.

Looking your best and feeling fabulous is key to creating photos you will love. An engagement session is a great opportunity to do a trial run with your wedding-day hair and makeup artist. If your are still looking for someone, you can check out our vendors page for a few of our favorites! For the men, get a hair cut a few days before the shoot and make sure your facial hair is neat and tidy.

Get enough sleep the night before your session. Puffy eyes are not a good look!
Hydrate. Drink LOTS of water in the days leading up to your session. This will help your skin look fresher and make you feel better too!
Save your feet. Bring an extra pair of flats or sandals if we'll be walking around a lot.
Leave your stuff in the car. Unless you want them in your photos, plan on leaving your phone, gadgets, purse, bag and other accessories in your car.
Be on time. Your session time was decided on because we want to use the most beautiful light of the day. We don't want to miss any amazing shots!
Be open-minded. We like to have fun and be spontaneous and those shots are usually the best!
Make it into a date! You will have just spend the last hour and a half to two hours, being playful, romantic, and sweet, laughing, kissing and hugging -- how often does that happen? Make reservations at a favorite restaurant for after your engagement session and keep the love-fest going.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
We are here to help and make sure you have an amazing time!
